Do you remember the first time you flew on a plane? Many people don't take their first air trip until adulthood, and it can be both an exciting and nerve-wracking experience. For 95-year-old Gladys, her first flight was a dream come true.

Gladys Blackburn was born in 1924, and it was her lifelong dream to ride on an airplane. Commercial air travel wasn't commonplace when she was a little girl, and she always traveled by car or train throughout adulthood.

Although she is only five years shy of 100, Gladys still longed to know what it was like to take to the friendly skies. After a wishing tree was created in her senior care home, the staff decided to do their best to make her dream come true, reported The Daily Mail.

With the help of easyJet and London Luton airport, a special flight was arranged just for Gladys, and the entire thing was captured on film. Gladys had always wanted to see Lake Geneva, so easyJet gave her the VIP treatment with her own plane ride and a glass of champagne.

Gladys couldn't stop smiling throughout the flight. "I'm in the air flying!" she exclaimed. She admits that she was nervous at first, but once she was in the air with a glass of champagne in-hand, Gladys felt nothing but pure excitement and joy.

Gemma Brooks, who works at the Milton Court Care Home where Gladys lives, was overjoyed to see the woman's dream come true. Although flying on an airplane may seem like an ordinary occurance to some, for this 95-year-old, it was a once in a lifetime dream come true.
