The job of a 911 operator is filled with stress. They take calls on a daily basis that include a terrified or grieving person on the other end of the line.

To make matters worse, there is the occasional prank call that distracts the operator from the important work they need to do. The penalty for prank calling 911 is different in each state but serious consequences can occur.

A young boy in Lafayette, Indiana called 911 recently. While his call may not have been serious enough to be considered an emergency, it was also not a prank.

Police officials in Lafayette released a Tweet that included the audio exchange between the boy and the operator who took his call.

The boy began by asking the operator if she could hear him. The operator, Antonia Bundy, assured him that she could. The boy seemed hesitant as the conversation continued. It seemed as if he felt bad for making the call.

Bundy was patient with the boy as he struggled to explain his situation. He told the operator his day had been a bad one. It was obvious the young boy was frustrated and a bit depressed.

He explained that he was struggling with his math homework. He told Bundy he was just not understanding the homework problems.

Bundy told the boy everything would be fine and said she would help him with a problem. The audio records the interaction between the two as Bundy explains a math problem to the little boy. The interaction has warmed the hearts of the many people who listened to it.

Once the problem was solved, Bundy asked the young boy if he needed additional help. The boy said no and offered an apology for the call.

Bundy ended the call by telling the young boy 911 and the Lafayette police department was always there for him. She said during an interview with Inside Edition the day was a slow one for her department and this allowed her to spend the few moments she did with the young caller.

Bundy says she hopes the kindness she showed the young caller brightened his day a bit. She also hoped the answer she gave him was correct.

The Lafayette Police Department said, "We don't recommend 911 for homework help but this dispatcher helped a young boy out and brightened his day."

People like Antonia Bundy, who are willing to stop and help others with the things that are important to them are a blessing. Listen to the audio for a true example of love and patience.
