90-Year Old Widow Feels Desperate About Fines To Pay Only To Get A Big Surprise By Strangers

Agnes was 90 years old and her yard was completely covered with rotting and rusted junk. She had a relative who had been dumping trash and debris on her property for years. The neighbors living around Agnes complained about it. The city decided to take action. They told Agnes if her property wasn't cleaned up, the city could charge her as much as $2,500 daily until it was cleaned up.

Agnes had problems with her home as well as the yard. Her roof was in bad shape, her home didn't have air conditioning and animals were starting to come into her house. Walking was a daily struggle for Agnes. There was no way she would be able to remove all the trash on her property.

Agnes knew she wasn’t able to care for the property on her own. Her husband had died and Agnes felt she had nobody who would be willing to help.

Agnes was desperate.

She decided to contact Operation Blessing. This is an organization dedicated to demonstrating God's love. They do this by working to alleviate human suffering and needs in the United States as well as in other places worldwide.

Operation Blessing is able to provide disaster relief as well as community development, medical care, safe water, hunger relief, care for orphans, vulnerable children and more.

Individuals from Operation Blessing went to the property where Agnes lived and cleaned it out. They also tore down a trailer and shed on her property and were seriously dilapidated. When the cleanup was happening, Agnes went out to her yard and saw many other volunteers helping.

These were people Agnes did not ask to help and did not think she would see them help. People at Operation Blessing had called some extra assistance in secret and many volunteers showed up to help out.

Volunteers were able to repair the holes in Agnes' damaged roof. Additional help was given to Operation Blessing from volunteers from Regent University. They were able to do some additional important things for Agnes.

A pathway was cleared to her backyard and they also installed flower beds that were beautiful. They also made sure all the debris from the property was removed and everything was cleaned as needed.

When Agnes saw her property after the volunteers had finished working on it, she was absolutely overwhelmed. Her home had a great appearance. The new path that was paved made is easy for Agnes to enter her home while using her wheelchair.

A new air conditioner was installed, and it made a huge difference during the heat of the summer. Agnes did not believe help like this would ever come her way.

After her husband passed away, she didn't know anyone who would help.

Relatives of hers did not care for Agnes. One of them was responsible for making her property and home such a mess.
