9-Year-Old Student Complaining About Bullies Got Kicked Out Of School On Cold Winter Day

Bullying remains a pervasive problem in schools across the globe. Sadly, human nature is what it is. Some young people build themselves up through their hostility and rage towards weaker kids. Thankfully, increased awareness about bullying leaves teachers and administrators with a better understanding of how to deal with the problem.

And then there are the unfortunate exceptions.

A 9-year-old boy in Chicago found himself being mistreated by bullies. He did what most vulnerable young kids would do. The youngster tried to go into the school to ask for help from the school authorities.

A school guard, however, didn't appear concerned about the youngster's problems. He was dragged in the direction of the principal's office and then shown the door.

The young man was ejected from the school and forced outside in 40-degree weather. The youngster was not even wearing a jacket.

The school has its side of the story. Administrators claim the boy's violent behavior necessitated his removal. The trouble with the school's version of the events is they aren't supported by closed-circuit TV footage. A review of the CCTV security footage shows the young man behaving appropriately.

Sadly, the 9-year-old could not come out from the freezing weather. The locked school doors provided him with no way out of the cold.

The school now finds itself embroiled in a legal case. Hopefully, the lawsuit will lead to rule changes that keep such a situation from occurring again.
