9-Year-Old Loses His Running Pals During A Race And Asks Marine "Will You Run With Me?"

Lance Corporal Myles Kerr was all set to run the charity 5K that was being held in Charlevoix, Michigan. The event, which was held in 2013, ended a little differently than he thought it would.

As Kerr was running in the race, he eventually ended up near a 9-year-old boy who was there with a group. Unfortunately, the young boy was having problems keeping up and had fallen behind. Boden Fuchs wasn’t sure what to do. When he saw the Marine next to him, he asked him if he would run with him.

The 19-year-old Marine was testing his own endurance by running in his boots and gear. However, he decided to slow down and run with the little boy. Suddenly, competing against his fellow Marines and coming in first wasn’t nearly as important as helping this struggling boy.

Kerr ran with the young boy the rest of the way, encouraging him to finish the race. They ended up crossing the finish line together. We are lucky that someone was there to take a picture of the wonderful moment. So many people were thrilled to see that there is still a lot of kindness in the world.

Kerr doesn’t think that his actions were that heroic at all. To him, he was simply doing the right thing. He later took to Twitter to say that he just did what any man would have done in his shoes, reported ABC.

Kerr's recruiter posted a photo of the two runners online and soon, everyone was taking notice of the heartwarming story. He told ABC News that the Fuchs family also gave him a $100 restaurant gift certificate that he would be sure to use before he headed back to Camp Pendleton in California.
