We do worry about our older relatives. Once you reach a certain age, mobility becomes an issue. Slip and fall accidents, in particular, become even more dangerous. Getting up from the ground can be tough without any help. What happens when an 87-year-old falls, and no one is there to assist? In the case of a senior woman in Minnesota, help came in four-legged form, CBS Minnesota reports.

Noreen wanted to add seeds to her bird feeder. Her regularly routine was upended by a recent snowfall. Noreen walked on top of the icy and snowy ground to reach her bird feeder. Things took a bad turn when Noreen slipped and feel.

She found herself unable to get up. Being prone on the ground is a dangerous situation under any circumstance. With the temperature dropping below zero, Noreen's case became worse.

And then help arrived in an unlikely form.

Noreen's neighbor Tim went to put the trash out when his dog Midnight, an ever-alert Labrador mix, started acting odd. Midnight's ears popped up, which is rarely occurring behavior.

Tim assumed something wasn't right. The dog's response was too out of the ordinary for Tim's comfort level. So, he decided to check next door to see if anything was amiss. Once he walked to Noreen's house, he saw the woman was in trouble. Tim acted quickly to help her up and lend lifesaving assistance.

Dogs and other pets often give their owner's unconditional love. Sometimes, that love extends to any human who needs it.

Midnight showed his love for Noreen and likely kept her from suffering frostbite or worse.

The tale of Noreen, Tim, and Midnight should prove inspiring to anyone who enjoys a story with a happy ending. The caring canine's story is one people should hear. Don't forget to let us know what you thought in the comments below!
