It’s typical to see flowers girls between the ages of two and seven at weddings. However, there is always an exception to the rule.

An 83-year-old grandmother from Kansas proved to everyone that age is nothing but a number by serving as the flower girl at her granddaughter Brenna's wedding.

Brenna Gets a Bright Idea

Brenna Kleman went against the grain when she asked her grandmother to serve as the flower girl at her wedding. Mrs. Kleman felt that her grandmother would do an exceptional job, and she also believed that the role would make her grandmother extremely happy. Who can argue with her?

According to Goodmorning America, Mrs. Kleman’s grandmother accepted her granddaughter’s offer with joy. She stated that she was excited and felt blessed.

Brenna, a registered nurse, revealed that she got the idea from one of her patients. The woman told Brenna that she was a flower girl at her granddaughter’s wedding. This wonderful idea added some exciting moments to this special occasion. No one hesitated to take photos of Mrs. Kleman’s grandmother defying tradition.

Grandma Almost Steals the Show

The guests could not stop smiling as “Grandma” walked down the aisle. Grandma started shedding tears. It seemed like she was filled with joy, nervousness, and excitement. However, she managed to collect herself and finish the task at hand.

"Age doesn't matter," Brock Kendall, the groom, told GMA. "Grandma's 83 years young and in the picture, she's off the ground jumping and throwing flowers."

This touching moment also affected everyone in attendance. Brenna later stated that her grandmother told her that she just wanted to do a good job. However, Brenna knew that her grandmother would not let her down.

Thomas Felts, the wedding photographer, captured sharp images of Grandma jumping up and down in her beautiful maroon dress. It’s fair to say that Mr. Felts was stunned to see Mr. Kleman’s grandmother filled with so much energy.

Brenna’s grandparents have been married for 63 years. Fortunately, there were able to see their granddaughter form a holy bond with her new husband. Brenna’s grandfather has been dealing with some health issues, but he refuses to let that get him down. He may have lost a step on the dance floor, but he didn’t mind seeing his wife do the latest dance moves at the reception.

Witnessing two people exchange vows with the intention of becoming inseparable is a wonderful experience. However, Grandma’s special role made this wedding special.
