Three generations of royal firstborn sons, in the exact same clothes, on the very same balcony of Buckingham Palace. Really the only thing different here is the direction of baby William's gaze.
Prince Charles had Prince William in his arms during his son's first Trooping the Color on June 16, 1984, and then William carried his son almost exactly 31 years later at Trooping the Color on June 13, 2015.

During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal tour of Africa in September 2019, Prince Harry retraced his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales' footsteps, who famously walked through a partially cleared Angolan minefield in 1997 to highlight the work of the Halo Trust.
The Duke walked down the former minefield in Huambo, which is now a bustling community. He also visited Dirico to see the charity's work first-hand, in an outfit quite similar to what his mom had worn to inspect an area of bush being cleared of ordnance by the charity.

The first things you might notice are the similarities in the two couples' outfits, and also the way both father and son Charles and William tilt their heads to the right as they smile. But the one thing that is absolutely unchanged about the two pictures is the ring that the ladies have on: the Commoner's Sapphire ring.
The ring consists of a 12-carat oval blue sapphire, cut into facets, and surrounded by fourteen solitaire diamonds. The setting is made from 18K white gold. At the time, in 1981, it cost £28,000. It’s now valued at approximately £300,000. It previously belonged to William’s mother, Princess Diana, who died an untimely death in a car crash in August 1997. Prince William said at the time of his engagement that giving the ring to Catherine was his way of making sure his mother didn’t miss out on his wedding day.

Kate first wore one of Princess Diana's favourite tiaras at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace in 2015. In 1981, the Queen loaned the Lover's Knot tiara to Princess Diana as a wedding gift and, although Diana wore the Spencer Tiara for the big day, the Lover's knot was one of her favourite pieces. Following Diana's death, the tiara wasn't seen publicly until Kate borrowed it from the Queen.
Having reigned for almost 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II has a collection, nay, an arsenal of jewels. Her bling was passed down to her from previous kings and queens, gifts from world leaders, or refurbished jewelry. Fortunately for the ladies in her family, she sometimes lends these gorgeous pieces to them to wear at events including their own weddings.

The similarities of these photos go beyond the visual. To be fair, the weddings of Harry and Meghan, and Jack and Eugenie were just five months apart, but the type of elegance in both these pictures could only be exuded by members of the British royal family.
Besides getting married in the same year, all four royals are currently in their 30s and are millennials.

The photos, which are almost identical, were taken thirty years apart. The difference in where the newlyweds are looking make for, perhaps, powerful symbolism of their relationships and their marriages forward.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out of the Lindo Wing with their firstborn, Prince George, in July 2013, with Kate stunning in a Jenny Packham dotted dress.
The choice of outfit was undoubtedly inspired by Princess Diana who, too, had worn a polka dot dress when she introduced her firstborn, Prince William, to the world in 1982. Even more similar are both the babies' white blankets and the way they are wrapped around them.
