73-Year-Old Tycoon’s Family Disapproved Of His Marriage To 30-Year-Old Model But Their Relationship Has Stayed Strong

The day Buenos Aires' tycoon Eduardo Costantini and Argentinian model Elina Fernandez met and fell in love may have been written like a movie script. However, the realities of their life together, with a 43-year-old age gap and a lot of disapproval from his family, prove that real love will always endure.

In 2019, Costantini spotted Fernandez one rainy day at the confectionary of the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), where he's the founder and the chairman. After casually approaching her, Costantini felt a connection to Fernandez right away and knew he could not let her go.

Following nearly a year-long courtship, the tycoon, then 73 years old, asked for the then-30-year-old model's hand in marriage. On their way back home from a holiday in Paris, Costantini instructed his driver to take them to the Civil Registry so they could file for their wedding date. According to CARAS, the smitten Costantini had a folder of documentation prepared, including his Divorce Certificate.

Costantini, whose net worth as a real estate developer has been pegged at $1.2 billion, was previously married to actress María Teresa Correa Ávila with whom he shares seven grown children. His relationship with his young bride received a lot of criticism, especially after one businesswoman claimed that the model actually planned on going after the tycoon when she learned that he was single so she went to the museum several times.

Then there were rumors on social media that suggested Costantini's children were shocked about their father's whirlwind romance with his young bride. They were said to be so against his relationship that only three of his children allegedly attended the wedding in February 2020, per ViaPais

However, Costantini and Fernandez denied the rumors of tensions in the family. She said that, while there were surprised reactions to their decision to marry, there was also acceptance from the start. The couple planned a small wedding with just 50 guests thus not everyone could attend. Some of the tycoon's children were also not in Argentina when the billionaire exchanged vows with his new wife.

"Our partner(ship) caused a stir because we are original, with different ages," Fernandez told La Nacion when asked about the media exposure into their personal lives. "It's good that these things happen to discover who the people around you are."

Three years on and the couple continue to profess their love for each other. They are both a constant presence on each other's Instagram profiles. Costantini even referred to his wife as "the great love of my life" in a photo shared on his social media on April 26, 2023.

It comes amid another rumor in February 2023 that the couple could soon head toward a multimillion-dollar divorce. The story cited that there’s no third party in the marriage, but Costantini could no longer take how Fernandez has allegedly alienated him from his friends, his children and his family, according to Eltrece TV

Despite the constant barrage of intrigues, including dealing with online trolls who follow their account, nothing seems to bring down the loved-up couple. Fernandez once said that people have no idea of the pureness of their feelings for each other.

"I have an old soul and he has a young soul. Out of us both, Eduardo is the one with the most energy and it is difficult to keep up with him," the model said.
