7 Old-Fashioned Tips That Will Make Acne Scars And Skin Imperfections A Thing Of The Past

Here's a list that includes some natural ways to have clear, healthy skin without harsh chemicals or any medical procedures. These tips have been passed down generation after generation. The information may be old but it is quite effective.

1. Dark Circles Under Eyes - Turmeric and Pineapple Juice

This is great for reducing the dark circles under your eyes. Turmeric works by producing antioxidants and will actually take the puffiness out of your skin.

Mask: Take 2 teaspoons of pineapple juice and 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder and mix until a paste forms. Apply under eyes. Leave on for approximately 10 minutes and then wipe off. Repeat daily until you reach the results you desire.

Not only will this mask help your circles to disappear, but you will notice that your skin will become softer.

2. Sunburns - Avocado

Avocados are great to help ease your sunburned skin. They are rich in vitamins D, A, and E which makes them great at reducing skin inflammation and also boosting collagen production.

Mask: Mash 1/2 avocado. Add 2 tablespoons of hot water and mix in. Apply to inflamed areas. Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse away with warm water.

Adding 1 teaspoon of honey is great for those who suffer from sensitive skin.

3. Hyperpigmentation - Lemon Juice and Potatoes

Potatoes are great for treating acne scars, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation. They are rich in many vitamins, while the lemon juice will lighten the skin from the citric acid it contains.

Mask: Wash potato and cut into small pieces. Add to blender and blend until you have pulp. Remove pulp and separate the juice from the potatoes. Set aside 4 teaspoons of potato juice. Take lemon and squeeze out 2 teaspoons of it's juice. Mix juices together. Mixture can be store in fridge for up to 4 days.

Apply mask with a cotton ball or brush in a thick layer. Once the first layer dries, reapply a second and third time. Mask should be worn overnight. Rinse off in the morning with warm water. Repeat daily for a week.

Adding tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of rose water is great for sensitive or dry skin. An option for oily skin would be to add 2 tablespoons of rice flour to your mask mix.

4. Acne - Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a wonderful clearing agent for acne. This is because it contains various acids and micro-elements. It'll have your skin detoxing with its natural antibacterial properties.

Mask: Mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of distilled water. Wash skin thoroughly and apply mask to your skin with cotton pad. One dried, use your skin care products as normal. Apply every time you wash your face.

5. Acne Scars - Green Tea

Green tea is filled with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This makes it great for helping to reduce the visibility of scar tissue.

Mask: Take 2 tea bags or 2 teaspoons of loose tea and place in a bowl. Boil 16 ounces of water and pour over tea. Once brew is complete, separate the tea and the water. Wet a soft cloth with tea and lay on face. Leave on up to 10 minutes. Use this masks as much as you like, daily.

6. Wrinkles - Olive Oil

Olive oil is rich in vitamins E, A, and antioxidants which makes it a great source for helping to reduce skin damage. It even promotes the regeneration of skin cells. Reduce aging with this mask.

Mask: Mix a few drops of honey with a few drops of olive oil and glycerin. Massage into your skin up to two times a day.

You can add in coconut oil, vitamin E oil, almond oil, and emu oil to help reduce and slow wrinkles.

7. Clogged Pores - Honey and Sea Salt

Sea salt is filled with minerals and nutrients which is why it's possible for it to help with the balance of oil production in your skin. It can also remove dead skin cells while promoting the renewal of skin cell growth.

Scrub: Mix 4 tablespoons of raw honey with 2 teaspoons of sea salt. Apply to your washed, dry face. Rub into skin gently. Leave on face 10-15 minutes. Rinse off. It's ok to use this scrub many times throughout the week.

Bonus Tip: Flawless Skin - Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is great to aid with anti-aging and will nourish your skin. This is because it's rich in vitamins, enzymes, and beta-carotene. It's also a natural moisturizer which makes it known to help with your ph balance and restore elasticity in your skin. It can even help with those stubborn acne scars.

Cleanser: Mix aloe vera juice and some honey together. Apply to face with cotton ball. Rinse off.

Scrub: Take the leaf from aloe vera and add sugar or rice flour to mixture. Use scrub on face up to 3 minutes. Rinse with warm water. You can do this scrub up to 3 times a week.

Toner: Take juice from aloe vera leaf, add 2 tablespoons of mineral water and 2 tablespoons of rose water. Mix together and add into a spray bottle. Apply as you would any other toner.

Mask: Mix together 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon aloe vera juice, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of rose water. Apply to skin and let dry for up to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
