7 Newfoundland Puppies Were Discovered Living Alone On A Desolate Island In Canada

Aug 13, 2018 by apost team

Seven Newfoundland puppies had been calling a remote island home. No one knows why they were orphaned this way. The dogs might have met a sorry fate were it not for a local boater.

The boater was just sailing past when they heard the puppies' wailing. They knew the situation was serious. The dogs were finally rescued after some searching. Norway House Animal Rescue took charge after the puppies were found. They are now living at the Winnipeg Pet Rescue.

The dogs have since been renamed and are now collectively named the "Gilligan's Island Crew." This is a reference to the TV show of the same name, where a group of people were stranded on an island. According to the NHAR Facebook page, each puppy has now been given individual names after the "Gilligan's Island" characters.

It was tricky at first for these little angels to become used to humans. That's not surprising at all when you think about their circumstances. After all, somebody had abandoned them!

However, the Gilligan's Island Crew has adjusted quite well. They're surrounded by loving care and attention.

The litter's touching story is proof that there is still good in the world. We're so glad that the puppies were rescued from a tragic ending. Hopefully the Gilligan's Island Crew will soon find a forever home. They certainly deserve it!
