69-Year-Old Bridge Bends Under Weight Of Enormous Coach Bus In Terrifying Video

When you travel across a bridge, you might notice a slight movement. However, the bridge shouldn't completely bend under the weight of a vehicle, such as this 69-year-old bridge did when a tour bus drove across.

The bridge is located in Arkansas and has been standing up to the weight of cars, trucks, and buses for almost 70 years. If a recent bus is any indication, then it could be time to remodel the bridge so that it's safe for vehicles to drive across. The bridge spans across Table Rock Lake and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

There is a weight limit of 10 tons that is posted for the one-lane bridge. However, many of the buses that travel across the bridge are well over this limit, some being almost four times heavier than 10 tons.

Transportation officials don't know if bus drivers are ignoring the signs that are posted or if they can't see the signs that indicate the weight limits.

A recent video captured by someone in the area reveals just how much the bridge bends when a large bus goes across.

Many of the people indicated that they were glad that they weren't passengers on the bus because you can clearly see how the middle of the bridge buckles and bends with the excess weight.
