Ice-skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean gave an incredible skating performance to Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water at the Dancing On Ice championships in March 2019.

Torvill and Dean are iconic UK athletes who won gold at the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, becoming the highest-scoring figure skaters of all time according to the BBC. They garnered 12 perfect 6.0 scores for their performance to the song Bolero, and all of these decades later, they are still on the ice.

On the popular Dancing on Ice TV show, they would perform every now and then even in their 60s. They are lyrical and fluid in their movements, working in perfect tandem with one another, a skill gained from many years together. Chris recently said to The Mirror:

"Do we feel those 35 years in our bodies? Yes! You reach a certain age and that downward slope. Nowadays every time we perform we feel like we don’t know if that’s our last performance," he continued. "So each time we skate it feels like a little added bonus. It’s quite sentimental. We like performing together, but there is an emotion each time we skate now.”

The pair did not seem their age while they performed to the Simon & Garfunkel classic, Bridge Over Troubled Water on the ice-skating rink. The graceful performance came before the announcement of James Jordan winning the entire series, according to The Sun.

The amazing athletes were such a treat to watch perform once more. Their tricks and flips were still present from lifts to spins all over the show. With an additional team of back-up ice-dancers, they made the entire evening even more magical. Don't wait on watching it for yourself!
