A large diamond often means a large amount of money. That is a lot to carry around on such a small item on your finger. Despite the expense, they often go missing when they fall off a finger, get lost, or stolen.

One girl, Tiny Dutton, was in a park in Dublin, Ohio. She was in Ballantine Community Park with John, a friend of her mom’s. When she went to the bathroom, she saw something that caught her eye. It was shiny and fancy.

It was an engagement right and a wedding band. Being only 6, she couldn’t even guess what they were worth. But she knew they were special. Tiny showed them to John.

John immediately knew they were worth something. In his former life as an addict, he admitted he would have pawned them immediately. But now, it wasn’t an option to him. He was a different person.

John told Tiny they couldn’t keep them. They had to find the people who own them. He wanted to teach her good character and integrity like her mom had talked about.

They went to the Dublin police and turned in the rings. About the same time, a mom returned home from the same park and realized she didn’t have her $10,000 ring set. She claims she took them off and put them in her pocket to avoid getting sunscreen on them. Caitlin Adkins didn’t realize sunscreen was the least of her problems.

She was upset when she realized her rings were missing. She tried to keep calm for her daughter’s sake. Caitlin knew how hard her husband worked to afford those rings. She wanted to be able to pass them on to her kids eventually.

Her husband went to look for the rings, but everything was locked including the bathroom. That’s when he called the police.

Caitlin was beyond relieved when her husband called to give her the good news. She began crying with relief. She was also in disbelief that someone would actually turn the rings in.

So many people would have taken those rings and kept them for themselves or pawn them. Caitlin was lucky that none of those people had found her rings. She was even more surprised when she found out it was a 6 year old girl who found her rings.

Caitlin was able to reach out to Tiny, her mother, and John. She told them how thankful she was and gave them a hug. She was so grateful that she went shopping for Tiny. She admitted she went a little crazy. Caitlin was so thankful for the actions of this little girl. She knew that her good deed would stay with Tiny for the rest of her life.
