Nov 04, 2018 by apost team

There are some things that are universally understood to be bad for your health, such as smoking.

However, there are also some seemingly innocuous actions that can actually have negative effects. For better health, you might want to avoid these common activities.

1. Storing food in plastic

There are all kinds of chemicals that go into making plastic storage for food. When you use this over a long period of time, you risk exposing yourself to all kinds of hazards. To help keep healthy, don't use plastic food storage for more than a few months at a time. You can also use tinfoil as an alternative method for keeping your leftovers fresh.

2. Wearing Crocs

You might like them as a colorful fashion statement, but while Crocs might feel comfortable at first, they can actually end up doing damage to your feet due to how they fail to support your feet. In order to keep your feet safe, opt for some sturdier footwear.

3. Mascara

To enhance your eyelashes and give you a stunning appearance, there's nothing better than mascara. However, you need to be paying close attention to what is in your mascara. Some contain chemicals which can cause problems for your eyes, such as inflammation. Keep a close eye on what kind of makeup you put on your eyes.

4. Non-stick pans

While not having to spray your pans is convenient, what's not so convenient is the hazards that these pans possess. When the heat rises on this equipment, can be exposed to toxic chemicals that could lead to cancer. To prevent serious consequences to your health when making a meal, avoid using non-stick pans.

5. Antibacterial soaps

It might seem like an antibacterial soap should be helping you, but it might actually be harming you. These soaps often contain triclosan, which can have serious consequences, from general unwellness to muscular dystrophy and hormone issues. This doesn't mean you should stop bathing, of course. However, you would be better off opting for a traditional bar of soap. You'll be just as clean and won't have to worry about negative effects.

6. Going to the bathroom

Everyone needs to do it, but how you sit on the toilet can have serious effects on your health. When going to the bathroom, you shouldn't be sitting in the traditional manner. Doing so can be detrimental to our intestines. Instead, you should be in more of a crouching position, tilting forward. It might take some getting used to, but it will be a huge boon for your body.

It can be alarming to learn that certain actions are bad for your health, but all of these have solutions. You just have to educate yourself and make an effort to correct any dangerous behaviors.
