Many kids these days are constantly glued to their phone or television screen, only venturing outside when their parents force them to. Although not all kids enjoy being outdoors, for a fifth grade boy in Odessa, Missouri, he was happy to do it.

Aidan Carty, a 10-year-old living in Missouri, recently heard about the Raising Men Lawn Care Service and their mission to get more kids outside helping others in need by doing yard work for free. As soon as he learned about their unique mission, Aidan gladly accepted the challenge.

His mom, Sabrina Carty, describes her son as a kid who enjoys helping others to Fox News, and has proudly taken on the task of mowing lawns for the elderly, single moms, disabled people, veterans, and anyone else in need.

Although he's only completed two lawns out of his 50 Lawn Challenge, Aidan already has several more jobs lined up to help him finish the task.

The way the challenge works is that kids go online with their parents to sign up and submit a photo to the Raising Men Lawn Care Service. They are then given important gear like a t-shirt, ear protection, and eyewear protection.

Once the challenge is complete, the organization gladly gifts the participant with a brand new lawn mower, blower, and weed whipper.

Aidan's sharing his story in hopes that more kids will join the challenge and get out there and help those in need. The organization accepts more than just lawn mowing as participation in the challenge. Other eligible services include shoveling snow and raking and bagging leaves.

Now that Aidan has started this mission, he doesn't have any intention of stopping anytime soon. His mom says that he's constantly asking when he can get out and mow a lawn for someone in need again.

Aidan and his mom are encouraging other kids to get up off the couch and join the challenge as well. They think that more kids should be choosing to get outside and help others versus staying inside glued to their screens.

Do you know of any kids who may benefit from participating in this challenge? What do you think about the youth these days?

Do you think they're too addicted to technology and could use some more time spent outdoors assisting those in need? If you think this challenge is right for someone you know, be sure to pass it along.
