Most parents typically know what to expect when attending their child’s music or dance recital. Little ones practice for weeks leading up to their big day, and the show is usually a shaky yet adorable display of their tiny voices or limited dance moves. You don’t walk in to be blown away, you’re just there to support your kid.

But once in a while, there’s a child prodigy who comes along and absolutely takes our breath away…

Five-year-old Akim Camara looks like your average kindergartner. The round-eyed cutie was still in diapers and speaking gibberish when he was first given a violin and started his lessons. The Nigerian/German child had no trouble remembering parts of music he heard and recreating it, and soon he was performing at his first concert.

Fast forward a few years and Akim is on stage performing with the famous Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu.

It’s an interesting sight to see a young boy dressed so professionally and playing violin while backed by a complete adult orchestra. You’ll want to watch their enchanting performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s “Dance of the Fairies” again and again! See it below :)

Do you feel inspired to pick up an instrument or enroll your kids in music lessons now? It is absolutely amazing what some people can achieve no matter their age.

Make sure your friends on Facebook don’t miss this incredible performance!
