It’s widely known that fast moving traffic causes more road accidents. Families in India also often squeeze themselves onto small vehicles such as motorbikes, which can also be dangerous. The Times Of India states that in 2017 alone, 146,377 people were killed on their roads.

It’s almost easy to understand how many deaths occurred on their roads when you see a video like this one.

The accident, caught on camera, showcases the family trying to pass other vehicles on the dangerous multi-lane highway when they crashed into another bike. The child clung to the gas tank of the bike as the parents were flung off the vehicle.

Thankfully, the child was safe after the bike fell onto a patch of grass, allowing her to land safely.

Police and ambulances were called to the scene to access the injuries from the crash. The girl’s mother was admitted to the hospital with minor injuries, but the father fled the scene immediately after crashing. Thankfully, the girl avoided crashing into other vehicles as she clung onto the motorbike.
