Five-year-old Zander Wiles is using his cancer remission news to spread joy and hope to others. The little boy from Michigan was gifted with a shopping spree to celebrate that he was finally free of cancer. It was hard to contain his happiness as he skipped down the aisles of the store putting $150 worth of toys and games into his cart.

In the end, Zander only kept one toy for himself and one for his sister as he gave the rest of the items away to other children in need as his mother told Fox 17 News. It has been a rough few years for Zander and his loving family, however, the five-year-old was finally declared cancer-free.

“That’s why we wanted to share the donation with the hospital. Because we’ve received a lot of support,”  Wiles said to Fox 17 News.

Zander was diagnosed with leukemia when he was only eight-months-old. Since the time of the diagnosis, he has been in and out of chemotherapy treatments at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Zander's mother, Brooke Wiles, said that it was important to give back to the hospital community that helped them so much during their cancer journey. Brooke credits Helen DeVos Children's Hospital for their unwavering support and commitment to helping Zander beat cancer. She was more than happy to donate the toys to the hospital so that other children can enjoy them.

The family now sees every day as a true gift. “We are really are looking forward to the future,”  Wiles told to Fox 17 News. They plan to make the most out of this time together, taking it one day at a time.
