5-year-old boys are knowledgeable about many topics. Start conversing with any boy that age and they would be able to give you details about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman that you forgot years ago. It is a truly innocent and wonderous age in our development, where the minutest of details takes on extreme importance.

As adults, we might not see the value of what kids do, but to them, value is determined by if it makes them happy. In inspiring news from California, a 5-year-old boy was recently shown to be a piano virtuoso.

Evan Le of Torrance started to learn to play the piano at age 3. Evan’s interest in music began when his brother got a toy piano at 5 years old. While his older brother simply made noise with the toy instrument, Evan was a natural player. The child would hear nursery rhymes and then repeat them on the little piano to the delight of his family.

Evan’s parents aren’t sure how their little boy developed such amazing talent. Neither of Evan’s parents know how to play and their son’s ability with the instrument seemed to come out of nowhere. Mr. and Mrs. Le wanted to encourage Evan’s ability so they bought him an electric piano and signed him up for lessons.

With his teacher’s help, Evan became able to play complex pieces and has even composed some of his own songs.

With only two years of formal training, Evan is now taking part in a recital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A video of the little virtuoso practicing for the concert has since shot to viral fame.

In the clip, Evan plays Fredric Chopin’s “Minute Waltz” for his proud family. Viewers who have seen the footage are amazed by how Evan plays such a beautiful and complex piece with confident ease.

What do you think of Evan’s story? Isn’t it amazing how someone so young can have such amazing talent?
