Childhood illness can be particularly hard for parents to deal with, but when that illness comes in the form of brain cancer it places an even more incredible amount of stress and concern on parents. It is really great to have the help and consideration from friends and family during the time a parent is taking care of an ill child, and one small town in Montana came together to put a smile on a child's face and let his parents know they are thinking of him.

Five year old, Wyatt Haas of Terry Montana was recently diagnosed with brain cancer after a tumor was found growing against his brain stem. When his classmates, family, and friends in Terry found out that he was going to have to leave town with his parents to undergo cancer treatment in Memphis they got together to do something special for him. A day of fun at a local park was planned to wish him well as they sent him off, but it came with a surprise.

Wyatt is a huge fan of unicorns, and knowing this, his classmates arranged to have a unicorn at the party for Wyatt to ride before he made his way to the airport. The unicorn in question was actually the horse of a classmate, but because it was white it fit the bill and was transformed by the family to fulfill Wyatt's fantasy ride. Bonanza the horse turned unicorn was given a special unicorn horn to wear for the day, and then had an animal safe treatment applied to its hair to give it a colorful rainbow effect.

Another classmate got in on the fun and also lent her pony to the class for the day, dressing it up in matching unicorn garb so that Wyatt's kindergarten friends could all have a ride on a unicorn that day. The Haas family was impressed and touched by the generosity and care for Wyatt that the community has, and excited that Wyatt had the chance to realize one of his more fantastic dreams out before he had to leave home for aggressive cancer treatments.

Sometimes, it's the little things we can do for a person that can make the greatest impact in their lives. Wyatt is sure to remember this day for a long time and it makes the stress and uncertainty of what he is facing a little less intimidating. Pass this on to members of your community and brighten their day.
