It can be difficult to know when you are lacking or in excess of certain nutrients within your body. That being said, there are some instances when your body will have physical changes that are noticeable due to lacking certain vitamins and nutrients. If you are aware of these, you will know which vitamins and nutrients you need to consume more of.

1. Pale Face

If you don't feel sick, but notice that your face is getting paler each day, it is likely due to vitamin deficiency. Most commonly people with a pale face are lacking Vitamin B12. Other people also notice that their tongue is more smooth, and they feel fatigued. Foods that contain a significant amount of Vitamin B12 include eggs, milk, cheese, meat, and fish.

If your eyes begin to feel puffy or swollen, and your legs are feeling bloated, you may be laking Iodine within the body. Other common symptoms include dry skin and brittle nails. Foods that contain high amounts of Iodine are cranberries, strawberries, yogurt, cheese, potatoes, and certain types of vegetables.

3. Sensitive Gums

If your gums begin to feel sensitive and bleed more easily than normal, you could be lacking Vitamin C. If Vitamin C is left out of a diet long enough, it can lead to other diseases such as scurvy. Many different types of fruits are excellent sources of Vitamin C.

4. Poor Hair Quality

A decline in hair quality can be caused by a deficiency of Vitamin B7. Symptoms include increased dandruff and brittle or dry hair. Foods that are high in Vitamin B7 include milk, egg yolks, corn, chicken, fish, and there are many others.

5. Pale Lips

Iron deficiency can cause your lips and gums to become more pale than normal. Foods that are high in iron include red meats, fish, eggs, beans, and nuts.

The body has different ways to indicate if you are lacking a certain nutrient or vitamin, and some of them can be noticed in the face itself. The physically noticeable changes in the face include a pale face, swollen eyes, sensitive gums, poor hair quality, or pale lips.

All of these signs show that you are potentially lacking a key vitamin or nutrient. Take note of these signs and ensure that you aren't lacking any key vitamin or nutrient.
