46-Year-Old Woman ‘Miraculously’ Gives Birth To Rare Triplets Naturally

Conceiving a child is the best gift a woman who wants to build a family of her own could ever have. But not all women are given a chance to carry a child. For some, it just couldn’t seem to work out, no matter how hard they tried.

But there are also a lucky few who, in some instances, still make it before the reproductive years of an average woman end. However, a 46-year-old woman had the best surprise of her life when she found out she got pregnant with not one, not two, but three kids!

Audrey Tiberius, who hails from the town of Alpine in the state of Utah, gave birth to identical triplets in September 2022. But Tiberius was told when she was just 41 years old that it was almost impossible for her to conceive via in vitro fertilization (IVF), saying the chances were only about 10%.

“I went to the doctor several years ago, and they said you won’t be able to have any more children, your eggs are too old,” Audrey told KSLTV in an interview, recalling the moment she was told about it. Audrey and her husband exhausted all efforts but to no avail.

“We did three rounds of in vitro and they all failed,” she told TODAY Parents in a separate interview.

But Audrey and Tyler did not stop trying until their dream of having more children came true. So, when she finally reached the age of 45, she got pregnant and welcomed triplets — a moment she described as having completed her life. Her husband, Tyler, was 41 at that time.

“I just feel like my life is complete now with these sweet babies,” she said

“I prayed and prayed for five years to have more children because I always wanted a really big family, and seven was kind of my number,” she shared. “When I found out I was pregnant, finally at age 45, I was just over the moon,” she added.

While it was a surprise to them, they were even more shocked after they discovered that the chances of a 46-year-old such as Aubrey having triplets were one in 20 billion.

“Most experts put the odds of identical triplets at one in 200 million births,” Audrey said. “I talked to a statistician and apparently the odds of a 45-year-old having identical triplets are one in 20 billion.”

Now, Audrey and Tyler have a wonderful family of eight, with their newborns Sky, River, and Bay joining their older siblings Marcus, James, Christian, and Max.

Audrey said she read on a medical website that the risk of getting pregnant at the age of 45 is even higher at 80%, making her even more careful throughout her pregnancy journey. “I prayed that my babies would be safe and that I would deliver them when I was supposed to — and that’s what happened,” she said in an interview with TODAY.

Having been blessed with the gift of having kids, Audrey said she could only wish for other parents to receive the same gift.

“We have been in baby heaven,” she said.

“I wish everybody could have all the babies they wanted.”

Audrey said she will always look at giving birth to her three bundles of joy as a “miracle.” “This was so statistically unlikely that there’s no way to explain it other than a miracle,” she said.
