Japanese billionaire Yusaka Maezawa has booked a trip with SpaceX in 2023 and wants a female life partner to accompany him. His future girlfriend will have to apply for the spot, and the entire adventure will be the subject of a TV documentary entitled “Full Moon Lovers.”
Maezawa is a fashion entrepreneur who started off his career selling CDs from home and is now worth $2 billion according to Forbes. He previously made headlines by purchasing a Jean-Michel Basquiat artwork for the incredible amount of $110.5 million in 2017.
His business, EC ‘ZOZOTOWN’, has given him a great deal of money, status, and fame, as he announced on his website. But now at 44, he writes, “feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there's one thing that I think about: Continuing to love one woman.”

The criteria for the “one woman” that he seeks is also outlined on his website in an open call which is due on January 17. The special lady must first be single and aged 20 or older with a “bright personality” who “wishes for world peace.”
Naturally, she must also be interested in going to space and participate in the preparation for the journey. By the end of March, Maezawa will have found the lucky lady after the process of a “serious one-on-one planned matchmaking event.”
It was announced in 2018 that Maezawa would be the first space tourist with Elon Musk’s SpaceX as per the BBC. It will be the first lunar journey by humans since 1972, but the rocket will not land on the moon itself. Instead, the “Big Falcon Rocket” or BFR will loop around and return to earth.
