4-Year-Old Son Brings Attendees To Tears At Military Dad's Funeral

Joseph Lemm, was a New York City police officer, member of the Air National Guard, beloved husband, and father to two young children. He was so respected that he was known to friends and colleagues as "superman" due to his caring and brave nature. He had quickly climbed the ranks in both the military and his work as for the police department, and had served the New York City Police Department for 15 years until he passed away at only 45-years-old.

While stationed in Afghanistan, a suicide bomber killed Lemm and his body was transported back to New York in the United States for a funeral.

Thousands of friends, colleagues, and family gathered at his funeral to pay respects, including Lemm's four-year-old son, Ryan, who wore his father's golden shield and carried his old policeman hat. They walked behind Lemm's casket, which was covered with an American flag and carried by fellow New York City policemen. 

All of a sudden, his son did something that shocked the audience into tears. 

Caught on camera, Ryan walks up to his heroic father's casket and solemnly salutes him. The emotional and heartbreaking moment went viral with news and internet websites sharing the story of the boy and his father.
