A four-year-old girl is being hailed as a hero for her quick thinking and the action she took to help her mother get immediate emergency assistance. Pre-schooler Isla Glaser was at her home in Franklin Township, New Jersey with her mother and siblings when the incident occurred that required her to jump into action.
Isla's mother, Haley, had a medical condition and because of it she was not feeling well that day, Isla told responders reports People.com. At some point during the day, Isla witnessed her mother collapse and pass out, causing her to immediately stop what she was doing and try to render aid herself. When the four-year-old was unable to wake up her mother or get a reaction, Isla grabbed the phone and dialed 911 as she had been taught.

The four year old was able to provide information to the emergency operator in order to get help to her home and mother as quickly as possible. Isla shared her mother's status, her address, and that her mother was unwell throughout the day. The information Isla shared gave paramedics and first responders vital information they needed to get help to Haley as fast as possible.
When emergency responders showed up at the home, Isla continued to assist and provide help. At home were her twin one-year-old siblings who were understandably distraught and upset. The four-year-old stepped in to comfort them while care was being provided to their mother. The family also had a family dog that was concerned by the intrusion of a bunch of strangers, Isla had the presence of mind to gain control of their dogs in order to reduce any distractions to emergency crews, People.com continued.
Emergency responders were so impressed by the little girl that they recommended her for a special honor. People.com shared that The Franklin Township Police Department presented Isla with a badge and certificate in a special ceremony to recognize her courage and the incredible job she did in providing help to both her mother and the department.
Isla's mother, Haley, is very proud of her daughter and grateful she had the presence of mind to call for help. This is further proof for why it is never to early to teach young children about how they can gain or render aid when an emergency arises.
