As kids, we typically have a dream job that we boast about during our elementary school's career week. Chef, teacher, police officer, and more are just a few of the common careers kids want to be. Whether or not they end up in that career field is a whole different story.

Four-year-old Ah-Maiya always wanted to be a police chief. She wanted to catch the bad guys and put them away. To everyone's surprise, she ended up being an honorary police chief for one day in her hometown of Cedar Hill, Texas.

Ah-Maiya was staying with her grandfather when she heard odd noises outside of her house. The sleepy girl got out of bed and looked outside. To her fright, she saw a stranger breaking into her grandfather's car at 3 am. She knew that she had to do something before the thief got away.

Ah-Maiya raced to her grandfather and informed him about what she saw. After checking the surveillance camera, he called the police. Thankfully, the police arrived quickly and arrested the criminal.

This story gets even crazier when it's discovered that this thief was actually a part of a band of thieves who were responsible for many crimes in Cedar Hill.

Police officers were shocked that the little girl managed to uncover such an important crime. They decided to visit the young girl in order to thank her for her help. After talking to her, they realized she always wanted to be a police chief. The police department of Cedar Hill wanted to make her dream a reality.

They gave Ah-Maiya her very own police uniform that she gets to keep. Additionally, she got to spend the day with a local police officer. For that one day, Ah-Maiya was an honorary police officer!

Though she's only four, Ah-Maiya was incredibly brave to have told her grandfather about the suspicious man.
