36-Year-Old Who Struggled To Become Pregnant For Seven Years Conceives Baby And Twins In The Same Week

For seven long years, Beata Bienias, 36, and her husband Powell tried tirelessly to have a child. 

Although Bienias suffered from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and was overweight, she never thought she would struggle to conceive naturally. 

As the couple sought out medical help, Doctors advised Bienias to lose weight. Although the 36-year-old ended up losing 70 Lbs, she was still struggling to conceive. As a result, the couple decided to give In Vitro Fertilisation a try.

When the doctors harvested Bienias' eggs, she told Today she cried tears of joy as she was overcome by hope that she would finally become a mother.

Although Doctors recommended the couple not get intimate during the IVF process, they broke the rule on Powell's birthday. They didn't think much of it as they had tried to conceive naturally for seven years and were never successful. 

Soon after, doctors implemented the embryos into Bienias. It didn't take long for her to finally hear the news she was waiting for for so long: she was pregnant. 

Bienias, now overjoyed with the news, went for her first routine sonogram. That's when the technician saw something none of the parties involved were expecting: the couple was expecting triplets.

“We both were in shock and we looked (at) the monitor with disbelief, just wondering who put (three babies) there,” Bienias told the publication. "'There’s three inside me.’”

Upon examination, the couple found out their doctor had only planted one embryo in Bienias, which meant they had conceived twins naturally.

“This is so ironic after trying for so long, and when we got the treatment we conceived naturally,” she said.

On December 13 2018, Bienias gave birth to Amelia, Matylda and Borys at 34 weeks pregnant. The couple is doing great now, and still adjusting to life raising multiple babies. 

“It can be difficult and hard, but it’s more than 100 percent worth it,” Bienias reflected. “I'm tired after a night but when I look into these little faces, it melts my heart.”
