3 Kids Blessed By An Elderly Couple While Shopping Right After Mother Dies With Military Uncle

We often get so caught up in our daily routines that we completely forget that others are struggling with the simplest of issues. By missing what is going around us, we often miss the chance to help out someone who is in great need. It sometimes only takes a minute or two to impact another person’s life in a huge way.

Angela O’Neal Jacks, an Alabama woman, has an example of why this is so important. She was shopping at a Dollar Tree in Gardendale when she became aware of a man with three children nearby, shopping for school supplies.

He was looking at a school supply list and apologizing to the kids that he had to shop at a dollar store for what they needed. However, the kids were cheerful and thankful.

Angela decided to step in and offer some friendly advice by informing him he could find better quality items for the same price at another store.

The man thanked her and then informed her that the kids had just lost their mother a few weeks ago. He was the uncle and had taken over their care.

The military man didn’t realize how expensive the items he needed to buy were. He told her they needed new backpacks, clothes, shoes, and more. He didn’t want to have to shop at the Dollar Tree, but he had no choice.

At that moment, an elderly couple came up and offered to meet them at a nearby Wal-Mart. They wanted to buy all of the supplies they needed. It was their way of thanking him for his service to the country and for the children.

Angela said that there were tears of gratitude everywhere.

In the middle of it all, one of the kids asked if they could get an MP3 player, as well. Angela quickly responded that they could. She knew, as a mother of four, how tough it can be to not have something the other kids at school have. She was eager to bring a little joy to a family who had just lost their mom.

She also posted a Facebook message detailing the amazing interaction. She hopes it is a story that will inspire others to pay attention to those around them and offer help if they need it.

Meeting this amazing man was a true lesson for her, reminding her that we all go through tough times. We should be ready to help out when we see someone who needs it.
