2 Young Girls Capture Audience With 'Sound Of Silence' So Intense There Was Not A Dry Eye

Two young ladies were recently up against each other on the new TV show, “The Voice Teen Philippines.” Though most contestants try to wow the judges and the audience with loud pop songs, these two teens decided to go against the grain. The teens surprised many in the audience with their song choice, despite being from a completely different culture. Many of the teens are drawn to the classic American tunes, but these two ladies wowed the audience with their choice.

The two teens, Patricia and Queenie, were against each other in the battle round of the show. They began the song sitting inches away from each other while the audience eagerly awaited their song choice. They were initially on the same team, making this something of a sibling rivalry for the show. The song they chose shook many, as they began crooning “The Sound of Silence.”

The reality singing show is a competition based on the Dutch show of the same name. The coaches include Sharon Cuneta, Lea Solanga, Bamboo Manalac, and Sarah Geronimo. The two teens were both on team Bamboo at the time the song was performed. However, their performance was a battleground where one of the teens would be forced off of the show. However, when the audience heard the quality of both teens, they realized how unfortunate that was. The battle round not only allowed Queenie and Patricia to show off their skills, but they also had a stunning harmony. The judges and the audience were blown away by their performance of the haunting melody.

The song “The Sound of Silence” was originally written and performed by Simon and Garfunkel. It is one of the leading songs that singers choose when going on a singing reality show because of the magic it contains. The beauty of the song is contained in the haunting harmonies. The pair of teens showed it should be performed as a duet, not a solo performance. They chose the darker tones of Disturbed’s cover of the song, allowing them to slow the performance down and stun the audience.
