Cameron James, a teenager from Texas, is making waves over the internet after mowing the American Flag into his yard as a tribute to a fallen soldier friend of his.
The 17-year-old carved 50 stars onto his flag with the help of a weed eater.
“Our mower has different settings, so I just changed the settings so the grass would be different lengths for the stripes,” James told NBCDFW.

He explained that the action was not only to honor his fallen friend Army Pfc. Kevin Christian, but also to show his love for his country in time for the 4th of July holiday.
“Last year, my dad wanted me to do this, like, to celebrate (the) Fourth of July and then this year, just like last week, one of my best friends from scouting died in the Army,” He told WATE. “He was a role model for me so I wanted to make sure he was missed by even the people who didn’t know him.”
James said it took him four hours to complete in the brutal heat of a summer day. "It was a lot of work," he told reporters. "But it was worth it."
