16 Little Boys Come Up With Heartwarming Plan To Support Best Friend With Alopecia.

Sometimes kids can be cruel and brutally honest, but they can also be the coolest friends ever. In the following uplifting story, sixteen boys rallied around their classmate and friend and gave us all a reason to believe in the power of friendship.

Third-grader Luke Nelson suffers from an autoimmune disorder called alopecia. One of the unfortunate side effects of this disorder is hair loss, and I mean all of your hair.

Now if a grown adult suffered through this, most of us would probably be able to handle the hair loss in a mature and practical way. However, the same cannot be said for a young boy.

Luke was understandably worried and didn't know what was going to happen when he went to school with a bald head! For a while he hid his hairless head under a baseball cap. But the cap couldn't stay on forever and eventually he had to take it off.

However, his worries became moot when he found out what 16 of his male classmates decided to do.

Instead of having Luke feel odd or like an outsider, the boys (unbeknownst to Luke) decided to make a trip to their local barber shop and have their heads shaved down to the scalp.

You can imagine that this took a lot of courage!

When Luke saw what they had done, an incredible weight was lifted off his shoulders. This show of friendship and solidarity was exactly what he needed to help make his condition more bearable.
