At the age of 14-years-old, Nevaeha Smith from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, wanted an exquisite floral two-piece dress that caught her eye at one of the local department stores for her 8th-grade formal dance. If ever a dress was meant for Nevaeha, she knew this was the one. However, the dress' $200 price tag made it a dream that would likely never come true.

What Nevaeha knew was her father, Ricky, was a hardworking man who already had his plate full trying to work three jobs to make ends meet and keep his family safe. In her heart, she wanted the dress more than anything. In her head, she knew it was a burden her father couldn't carry.

What Nevaeha didn't know about her father is how determined he is to make sure his kids have all of what they need and some of what they want. Keeping in mind he is holding down three jobs, he began picking up a few extra shifts in order to put a little more money in his pocket. Despite being home even less than before, no one knew what he had up his sleeve.

One day while he was working one of his regular shifts at McDonald's, Nevaeha and her mom paid a visit to the restaurant. Ricky walked over to Navaeha with a garment bag and started unzipping it. Nevaeha began to realize this wasn't just an ordinary dress. Her father had indeed found a way to make to buy the dress she wanted so badly.
