Young Kyler Nipper is on a mission. At 14 years old, Kyler is the founder of Kyler’s Kicks, a Las Vegas-based non-profit organization that provides shoes to those in need. Kyler’s organization never turns away anyone seeking help.
In addition to helping the homeless, Kyler’s Kicks gives shoes to people in low income families and anyone who needs a new pair of shoes and cannot afford them.
Kyler’s mission to help those in need is rooted in a personal tragedy that took place when he was in middle school. Kyler has a problem with his Achilles tendon that forces him to walk on his tippy toes. As such, Kyler’s shoes would quickly wear out, sometimes within just two days of buying new ones.
Kyler’s condition often made him the target of bullies. One day, when Kyler was in sixth grade, a bully stabbed him in the lung with a pencil. Speaking with reporters from Inside Edition, Kyler’s mom, Sherise, described the three intense days where her son laid in critical condition in the hospital. Upon waking up, Kyler was determined to help those who can’t afford new shoes.

Although Kyler healed physically from the assault, he still suffers from PTSD from the event, reports Inside Edition. As such, Kyler founded Kyler’s Kicks as an outlet for his negative feelings.
The young teen meticulously organizes shoes in a storage locker the organization keeps for donations. There Kyler arranges the shoes by size and steam cleans the stains from the used pairs. Kyler can instantly recall who donated each shoe and special stories behind each pair. In total, Kyler Kicks has given away over 25,000 pairs of shoes to those in need states Inside Edition.
Kyler gave away the milestone 25,000th shoe at a special event at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. Of the hundreds of people that came, all were appreciative of the kindness shown to them. Like Kyler, many suffered from physical conditions that made walking difficult. Others simply couldn’t afford to buy shoes and brought their entire family to the event. During all of it, Kyler made his way through the bustling crowd, helping volunteers and measuring people for shoes.
Through all of Kyler’s generosity, it is important to remember that the Nipper family still suffers from the financial hardship of Kyler’s attack. The family lost their home due to high medical bills and currently lives in emergency housing, Kyler's mom told Inside Edition. Despite this, Kyler has never lost faith in humanity and goes out of his way to help those in need.
What do you think of Kyler’s Kicks? Isn’t it amazing how young Kyler turned his assault into something positive?
