You’ll probably never face most of these situations, but it never hurt anyone to be prepared.

Anyone else wouldn’t have a clue what to do, but you’ll be ready for anything that comes your way. Poisonous critters and treacherous terrains aren’t going to bother you.

1. You’re Trapped Under Ground

Being stuck inside of a cave after a little late-night spelunking can be deadly. Getting trapped under the debris of a collapsed building is even worse. Just Stay Calm.

  • Breath slowly and conserve your energy. Your main priority is oxygen.
  • Wrap a cloth around your mouth. Dust can coat your lungs making it impossible to breathe.
  • Don’t scream. You’ll only waste precious air, and you’ll inhale more dust.

2. You’re Stranded In The Desert

Your camel has run off into the distance. There’s nothing but sand and sunshine as far as your eyes can see.

  • Get some shade as soon as possible.
  • Don’t travel during the day. You will overheat. It will kill you. The temperature will drop by 35 degrees when the sun sets.

  • Poisonous bites tend to cause an excessive amount of bleeding. The area will swell. Your blood might turn to a dark red or bluish color. Headaches and nausea are common.
  • Let it bleed. don’t try to cover it. The more you bleed, then the more venom leaves your wound. Stopping the bleeding puts you at a high risk for necrosis.
  • Only suck out the poison when you have no other options. Micro-cuts in your mouth can absorb the venom. It will poison you faster. Keep washing out your mouth with water when sucking out snake venom from a wound.

5. An Unknown Animal Attacked

You were in the forest gathering firewood. A wild animal attacked you. You don’t know if it was rabid.

  • The first thing you should do is wash the wound with soap. You don't want an infection to occur.
  • If you were attacked by a rabid animal, then you’ll know it. The wound won’t stop bleeding. It will turn dark-red. You will have an uncontrollable itchiness all around the bite. It only takes four days to die from rabies. Get to a hospital. There is no way to survive this in the wild. The first sign of rabies is an irrational fear of water with an inability to swallow liquids.

6. Wild Dogs Surround You

They Aren’t Friendly.

  • Don’t run. Don’t let them see your back. That’s when they’ll pounce.
  • Walk backward while making a lot of noise.
  • Never let them surround you on all sides. Look for higher ground.

7. You’re Stuck In Rainstorms With No Fire

It started raining, but you made waterproof matches.

You were smart enough to read this priceless tip. You coated your matches in a thin layer of nail-polish before the storms came in.

8. You’re Lost At Night With Only A Flashlight
