14 Girls Perform Ed Sheeran Song Only To Pierce Audience With Twist That Leaves Everyone In Tears

A talented girls' choir recently graced the stages of Ireland's Got Talent. However, this group is unlike most choirs.

They are known as The Deaftones. What makes them unique is the fact that they're made up of ladies who are either deaf, mute, or hard of hearing. They're all between the ages of 13 and 39. Most of the choir sings with their hand signals. However, there are a few girls that sing with their vocal cords.

Shirley is their conductor. She began directing the group in 2010. Shirley also teaches at the Holy Family School. She gave further information on how the choir works. Some ladies can hear the music while others can't at all. This is a wonderful example of the deaf and hearing coming together to produce something beautiful.

At first, the group was only filled with girls who were deaf or hard of hearing. Later, Shirley began allowing hearing girls to try out. Ciara became a part of the choir this way. She eventually became its lead singer.

Ciara understands how hard it is to be deaf in the world. Most of her family experiences hearing issues. This includes her parents and siblings. So, she understands how much this choir means to the ladies. It gives them a huge boost in self-esteem. That's how they've made it this far.

The Deaftones walk onto the stage and begin singing Photograph by Ed Sheeran. Hannah and Ciara are the only girls who can hear. So, they remain towards the edges of the choir. At the center, you can see the others signing away.

The singing girls were nervous, but the deaf ones were full of joy and confidence. They signed the lyrics with glee. As the performance continues, the crowd watches with tears welling up.

The Deaftones received a standing ovation! Everyone jumped to their feet and cheered with runaway emotions from the performance.

Unsurprisingly the judges on the show were unable to control their crying. It was an emotional moment. The judges thanked the choir for their amazing song. They gave the clapping signal in sign language. In the end, they all signed a unanimous yes to The Deaftones!
