Anyone who has heard Josh Groban's powerhouse ballad "You Raise Me Up" knows that it's a song that can't be performed by just anyone. There is so much intensity and passion in the song, and anyone who attempts it has a lot of courage. However, Jeffrey Li isn't just anyone.

The 13-year-old appeared on "America's Got Talent" and astonished the judges with his audition.

His confidence in himself was palpable as he stood in front of the huge crowd. He also had an adorable interaction with the notoriously prickly judge, Simon Cowell, telling him that his biggest desire, if he won the grand prize, would be to have a dog of his own.

An only child, Jeffrey said that he selected "You Raise Me Up" based on how it's comforted him in times of loneliness. It became clear almost right away just how much talent Jeffrey had. He took on Groban's song with absolutely vigor and enthusiasm.

It wasn't just that he knew the notes. He also knew how to deliver them with so much conviction. In his polo shirt and sneakers, he was giving his performance it all.

The consensus among the judges and the crowd was unanimous. Jeffrey had absolutely blown them away. Perhaps the biggest compliment came via Twitter, when the song's creator, Josh Groban, posted the video and congratulated Jeffrey, telling him he was "honored."
