This a cappella rendition of the Christian hymn How Great Thou Art by Briarcrest OneVoice is simply stunning. Released in 2017, the accompanying video depicts the group in a range of settings, as they show off their heavenly voices.

Typically, when you hear a choir sing, you know that these individuals have spent countless hours practicing and rehearsing to ensure their performance is perfect. Learning to sing, after all, requires quite a lot of talent and practice. For many, it isn't simply a gift or talent they naturally have, but a skill they've learned over many years. For the 12 choir students in the Briarcrest OneVoice, however, it's almost like a blessing from God himself. These students performed a beautiful a capella edition of How Great Thou Art that totally blew us out of the water.

Traditionally, many of the classical Christian hymns sound stunning. They're written this way on purpose. The songs intended to represent the feeling of immense joy, gratitude, and devotion that Christians around the world feel in regard to God. It's yet another worship tool. Some hymns tell the tale of certain biblical events. Others are songs of praise or promises of what is to come after our lives are over. The lyrics of How Great Thou Art showcase one's devotion to God:

"Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art"

The more modern version of many of these musical pieces includes upbeat rhythm, drums, and hip-hop musical elements. Churches use them to help engage the audience, as modern-day mass feels somewhat tedious to younger generations.

In the case of How Great Thou Art, written in 1949, it's most certainly a worship tune. Essentially, this song sounds much like what you would expect from a prayer book in church. It's a gorgeous way to express your devotion to your Lord and Savior. Hundreds of Christian artists have covered this particular song, bringing us to tears many times before.

The Briarcrest Christian School OneVoice Choir, however, took this song to the next level. Twelve of the members of their choir gained national attention by performing on America's Got Talent, displaying their immense vocal capabilities. Typically, learning how to perform so beautifully can take decades. Even some of the most popular and well-trained musicians struggle to sing a capella. These students, however, are dedicated to their craft. They made their performance look almost easy.

A cappella singing, typically, requires quite a lot of skill. You must be able to maintain the range of your voice. Because a capella traditionally means "without musical accompaniment," individuals must be prepared to make their voice the music. Without careful preparation, practice, and tone assessment, an a capella performance can quite easily fall apart.

In their incredible rendition of How Great Thou Art, these 12 students showed their skills. Their performance was perfectly on-key, and we could practically hear the traditional piano accompaniment. There's a reason the Briarcrest OneVoice choir has won awards around the nation for their skills. These highly talented teenagers took our breath away while singing this traditional praise and worship song.

The video, edited for cinematic purposes, displays the teenagers in a variety of different settings. Despite these settings, you can hear the quality of their voices in each location. These students train their vocal cords for maximum control in each setting. Their performance is utterly chilling. Some may say it is even angelic, a true gift from God himself. Ultimately, we can tell that these students dedicate themselves both to their musical craft and their church. You can practically feel the praise and dedication in each student's voice in their exceptionally moving performance.

Let us know what you thought of their a capella take on How Great Thou Art below. Would you have moved them on to the next round of America's Got Talent? We know we most certainly would have because their performance brought us to tears. Be sure to pass this on to your friends.
