Living a long life is something everyone wishes to experience. Most people describe "a long life" as living well into their 80s. Few people can imagine living to be 100. Some lucky people do reach the century mark. Louise Signore did, and she looks quite spry for someone over 100. And she's far over 100. Louise just hit the 107-year-old milestone.
When someone reaches such a spectacularly high age, people wonder about that individual's secret to longevity. Louise provided an answer to everyone's question. She didn't give the expected response about eating well and not smoking, although a healthy life probably did contribute to living so long. CBS reports that Louise mentioned she owes her longevity to never being married. Her comments definitely raised eyebrows, and the media took notice. The humorous response led to reports about her birthday proliferating on new sites all over the internet.

Other factors play a role in reaching 107 years of age. Good genes do run in the family. Louise's sister is now 102-years-old. Still, we can't rule out Louise's decision not to marry as a factor. She knows herself better than anyone else. Marriage can bring stress. If you aren't married, you don't deal with that stress. Overall, her health is fine. She suffers from no severe ailments, but does take some medication for high blood pressure. Sadly, she did deal with a bout of pneumonia recently.
Old age has not slowed her down much. Louise remains quite independent. Even though legally blind, she can care for herself and go shopping alone. She truly is an amazing person.
The community honored Louise with a grand celebration at the Bartow Community Center in the Bronx, New York. She appears quite happy among friends, and her longevity is inspiring. Being surrounded by friends who love her surely makes Louise feel good. Things haven't been completely perfect for her. Tragically, she was a victim of a violent robbery at her apartment a few years ago.
When your friends find out such as long life is possible, they may take a bright outlook on the future. Tell them about Louise Signore's recent birthday. Maybe they'll send a card. This awesome lady surely deserves it - or what is your opinion?
