Dec 06, 2019 by apost team
Kirk Douglas, now 103, has seven grandchildren. His son, Michael, just became a grandfather himself recently when his son had a daughter, Lua, in 2017.
They light each other up
Lua and Kirk have a special connection. The darling two-year-old visits her great-grandfather every weekend and spends time happily interacting with Kirk. Cameron, Lua's father, said to Closer Weekly.
"I bring my daughter over to see him every weekend, and I’m teaching her to swim at his house. They have a beautiful connection. She lights him up and vice versa."
Lua is currently too young to watch any of Kirk's movies, but Cameron plans to show her 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at some point in the future.

Lua was actually named after Kirk; her full first name is Lua Izzy. Kirk Douglas was born Issur Danielovitch, Izzy for short, but legally changed his name before enlisting with the Navy, as detailed here at Hello Magazine.
Kirk Douglas was born in 1916 and grew up in poverty, the child of two immigrant parents. He had six sisters. He first appeared in a movie in 1946 and became a popular actor and box-office attraction throughout the 1950s.
Over his entire career he acted in over 90 movies. He established Bryna Productions in 1955 and began to produce and direct movies in addition to acting in them. He also began writing and has written 10 books, both fiction and memoirs. More can be read about him here on his biography page at KirkDouglas.com.
