We know that not all landlords are created equal. Sometimes you may get lucky and find one that is relaxed, helpful, and understanding of the problems that may arise. But sometimes you may get one that is unfair and seems to be heartless when it comes to handling their business.
Thelma Smith knows all about less than favorable landlords. CBS reports on the story of Thelma Smith, a widow who has resided in her home located in Ladera Heights, California, completely alone since her husband died. Obviously, at the age of 102, Thelma knows all about loved ones passing away and is no stranger to loss. But this didn’t make the heartbreak any easier when she became a widow.

Even though she has been through loss and hardship in her old age, she has only gained an appreciation for life. People who make it long as Thelma did in this world deserve nothing but the best. They should be respected and should be allotted tons of fun and relaxation time to do whatever they want.
But Thelma is facing a bigger crisis than she ever expected to go through at her age. Right around the time of her 102nd birthday, her landlord decided to hit her with some surprising news.
Thelma was to be evicted from her home in order for her landlord to make space for his daughter to relocate in the building. Now, Thelma is due to find a new home by June 30th of this summer. What makes things even more complicated is the fact that Thelma has no family nearby, as they all live on the East Coast.
With little to no financial support, Thelma isn’t sure if she has any options on where to move. But now her family is trying to get authorities involved to help Thelma stay in the home she knows, loves and deserves.
Although Thelma still has plenty of lust for life, she is not certain about where life is going to take her next.
