101-Year-Old World War II Veteran Performs Moving Rendition Of National Anthem
Nov 26, 2019 by apost team
We owe our vets a great debt. They faced horrors most of us can't even imagine. When they return from battle, they often struggle to resume civilian life again. When a vet lives as long as Lt. Robert McClintock has, he deserves extra special honor. He's doing something right!
The Man Behind The Voice
Recently, he was able to sing the national anthem before a hockey game in Tampa, FL. The man had just celebrated his 101st birthday! Nothing keeps this vet down! When you listen to the man sing, you realize that he has incredible talent. His voice is a deep, rich one. It carries the notes and meaning behind our anthem. If anyone can sing our anthem with heart, it would be a vet like Lt. McClintock.

According to the NHL, Lt. McClintock served in WW II for the US Army Air Corps. Drafted in 1941, he flew 86 missions over North Africa and Italy. After the war, he shared his musical talent with the world. He performed at Carnegie Hall and the Mormon Tabernacle. This isn't his first time singing at a game, either. He's done this three times!
Who's That Next To Him?
We can't forget the talented woman standing next to Lt. McClintock, who sings the national anthem with him. This is Air Force Tech Sonya Bryson, who has retired from active service. Her voice is as majestic as Lt. McClintock's! When the pair first starts singing, her voice lifts over the crowd. Then she does something special. She lowers her mic to give Lt. McClintock a chance for a solo! His voice carries strong and clear. The crowd loves it, and so do we! Thanks, Sonya Bryson, for showing such consideration. She's a great example to us all.
