When someone passes away, the family of the deceased is left having to cover the costs of the funeral. Unfortunately, this can be a very expensive responsibility, especially when you don’t have a lot of money to begin with. Some people do have life insurance policies that will cover the costs of a funeral, but this isn’t always the case. If they have no insurance, the family often has to scramble for the money.

Daniel Crase is a 10-year-old boy from Oklahoma. His Uncle Brian was one of his best friends. It was just recently that Brian passed away suddenly from a heart attack. The sudden death of his beloved uncle left Daniel shocked and sad. He lost his best friend and confidant without any warning, leaving Daniel to mourn along with his family.

In another unfortunate turn of events, the family discovered that Brian left behind no health insurance. That meant that they would have to take care of the funeral costs. Money was already tight for the family, who now had to come up with around $5,000 to give him the proper burial he deserved.

Brenda, Daniel’s grandmother, was the one to raise Brian since the day he was born. She said in FOX News that Daniel immediately came to her to state that he wanted to help raise money for his uncle’s funeral. While Brenda thought his idea was selfless and heartfelt, she told the young boy that she didn’t know what to do to raise the money. However, Brian was determined. He insisted that he knew exactly what to do to raise the cash they so desperately needed.

His first plan involved selling all of his toys at a family yard sale. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to do so. But the determined child wasn’t going to give up that easy. He then asked Brenda to drive him over to the nearby Quick Way gas station.
