When a couple meets, it can be magic. This is just what it was like for Mandi and Tyler when they met. However, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for this couple. one of the biggest dreams and goals of this couple was to have a child together. Sadly, it was difficult for them to be able to conceive so they decided that it was time to look at other options.

Fostering young children was something that Mandi and Tyler quickly fell in love with. “We kept hearing the cry for foster parents in our area. So we talked about it and prayed about it and we signed up for the classes,” Mandi told WTOL

“Once we got licensed as foster-to-adopt parents, that week, we got the phone call for Hunter. He was 8 days old,” she told People.

This was when they decided to fight to keep this child that they had instantly fallen in love with. “We went and picked him up at Children’s Services. We brought him home and we went through the roller coaster ride of foster care for that entire year,” she said to People

However the couple finally learned that they would be able to adopt Hunter, so they headed to the courthouse to finish the official paperwork.

“It was very emotional, in a good way. We had all of our family and friends there,” Mandi says to People

“At the end of the court process, the judge announced [Hunter’s] new legal name. And they read the adoption decree and that’s when Hunter looked at my husband and he said, ‘Dad!’"

Mandi adds that Hunter began clapping and made every teary-eyed in the room. "It’s nice to look in his eyes now and not have to worry that he’s ever gonna have to leave us again.”

She continued to say how she is so relieved they have officially adopted hunter saying, “On adoption day, it’s almost like a ton of bricks just came off our chest..."

"...We now know that he’s never leaving us. He’ll always be safe and loved with us. So that in itself is rewarding.”
