Young Boy Is Overjoyed As Puppy, Allegedly Stolen From Yard, Comes Back

Oct 25, 2018

Naturally, one of the best ways to teach your child responsibility at such an early age is to introduce them to a new pet. When a 5-year-old boy received his first pet on his birthday, they instantly became inseparable until one tragic day.

Sharnee Pocock, who lives in the small town of Lara, Australia, had gifted her son Noah a new puppy on his fifth birthday. The cute 3-month-old puppy was an American Staffordshire terrier and they had all decided on the name, Jacky Boy. It didn't take long at all for Noah and Jacky Boy to become the best of friends.

He loved and cared for his new pup and it showed through the pictures his mother had posted on her page. But, when Pocock came home from work one day, their beloved family dog was nowhere to be found.

She suspected that Jacky Boy was stolen from her backyard, possibly from thieves hoping to sell him to organized dogfighting rings. She recalls checking her home's security cameras and finding nothing that pinpoints how Jacky Boy went missing.

Still thinking of the worse, she pleaded on her social media pages for the safe return of Noah's puppy. She initially offered a reward for $3,000 to anyone who could bring Jack Boy back to his home. But then she upped the award and wrote, "4K reward no questions asked! Just bring our Jacky Boy home."

Pocock's plea and her generous reward were passed around to many local pages and Australian news sources. She had even spoken to one of the local broadcasters and said, "I’m not a rich person, it’s not like we have this kind of money but I will give it up.”

She revealed that her son wasn't doing too well after the news that his puppy was missing. Every night before his bedtime, Noah asks where his dog is and wonders if he's feeling cold.

On Oct. 18, 2018, the Pocock family finally received some wonderful news, Jacky Boy was found and in great condition. A man who lived in a town roughly 24 minutes away was the one who found their family dog. You can see in the video how overjoyed Noah was when his puppy pal walked in.

The puppy was very excited to finally meet his buddy as well. All in all, we don't know if this man was the suspected thief or if the puppy had escaped on its own, but we are all glad for Jacky Boy's safe return.
