World's Oldest Dad Named By India At 96 Dies Aged 104

After suffering severe burns from a smoking-induced fire, Ramjeet Ragav died at the age of 104. Named the world's oldest dad by India, he fathered two boys at the ages of 94 and 96. However, his eldest son was abducted and his wife left him with the second, leaving Ramjeet to die alone.
Ramjeet Ragav first made headlines in 2010 when he fathered his first son at the age of 94. He then broke his own record by fathering a second son at the age of 96. Now at age 104, he has died after suffering burns because his bed caught on fire while he smoking in his home in Kharkhoda, near New Delhi, India.

Ramjeet’s wife, Shakuntala, gave birth to their first son when she was 60 in 2010. Their second some came in 2012.
According to the Mirror, the former wrestler and farmer Ramjeet died alone. His first child was abducted in 2013 and then his wife left him and took their second child only six months later.
The Mirror reports that Ramjeet’s neighbor, Subodh, heard calls for help on February 11th and ran to Ramjeet’s home.
Subodh said:
“I saw smoke coming from his home and then I heard him calling for help. I ran over and saw him lying on the floor on fire. I splashed water on him and helped him to my vehicle before I took him straight to the local hospital. Doctors gave him immediate treatment. His left side was badly burnt. But the doctors there referred him to another hospital in Rohtak so I took him and admitted him before I went home. The following day I was told he had died."
At the time of losing his wife and remaining child, Ramjeet said:
“I have no idea where she went. I was out and when I returned she and my younger son were gone. My life is a waste on my own. I used to eat well but now due to the stress I don’t eat. I can survive without food. But what kind of life is this? It’s only me who knows the pain I am suffering. I miss my children; I feel it’s better to die as I can never forget them."
Ramjeet was cremated on February 13th by his community in Sonipat, Haryana.
