Woman Had A Divorce Party In Order To Mark The End Of Her Marriage

Sep 16, 2019

We all know that when there’s an upcoming wedding, it’s a huge reason for family and friends to come together and celebrate. But, who’s to say that the end of a marriage isn’t cause for that same level of celebration? Well, one woman did just that—she celebrated her divorce by throwing an all-out bash because... why not?

After fourteen years of marriage, Catherine Navarro from New Jersey is finding bliss in her long overdue divorce. Now that she can finally be on her own and breathe again, she’s throwing a divorce party.

The marriage started as a whirlwind romance but it ended up being a long and toxic disaster.

Catherine initially filed for divorce in 2014, but when her husband disappeared she was forced to prove to the courts that she had searched high and low for him to no avail. She was literally trapped in a marriage with no proof that her husband was able to be present in a court of law.

But miraculously she was finally granted the divorce after seven years of waiting. She knew that a divorce party would be the way to kick off her new found freedom.

Catherine pulled out all the stops for her party from food to decor. She invited thirty of her closest friends and family and even had cupcakes with phrases like “Boy, bye” written on them.

Her new beginning was reason enough to celebrate, and those who have been through a long awaited divorce will probably understand the need for that same celebration.

When you are in a toxic relationship—married or not—and you’ve finally gotten out of it, this is one empowering way to attempt to escape those trapped feelings and celebrate your freedom.

Perhaps more women should embrace divorce just like Catherine did. Hey—any reason to throw a party, right? What do you think?
