Tourists Freeze By The Pool As They Watch Wild Elephants Drop In For A Drink

Aug 10, 2018

Elephants are intimidating creatures known to have mood swings. Sometimes you read stories about angry and combative elephants that want to inflict harm upon humans, and sometimes elephants can be gentle giants that seek to visit you and have a nice time in your surroundings. If you visit Kurgar National Park in Africa, it’s likely that you can expect to witness wild elephants.

But getting a visit from these beautiful animals while you’re sunbathing next to your pool? It may seem unlikely, but it happened to one lucky couple.

The couple was enjoying their time in Africa, lounging in comfortable chairs and sunbathing next to the private pool at the lodge they were staying. The unthinkable happened when they opened their eyes to realize that three wild elephants had come for a visit.

The couple was frozen in shock.

It seems that the elephants came to have a drink of water from the pool the couple was sitting next to, much to the horror and shock of the couple, who wasn’t sure what would happen next.

Thankfully, the elephants had no interest in the humans and it seems they wanted to play in the pool. Another couple had been coming up to the pool area when they witnessed this whole event and saw how much fun the elephants were having. The couple recorded a video and posted it on social media.

Similar occurrences have happened before with tourists and elephants.

In West Bengal, a wild Indian Elephant approached an army camp searching for something to eat. The elephant even entered their kitchen! The elephant was eventually scared off of the base with the help of some firecrackers.

It seems that most elephants are calm and gentle creatures. If they approach humans, it’s often because they are seeking food, shelter or a water source, not to harm us. Would you be afraid if an elephant approached you? Let us know what you think and pass this insane video around!
