Singer Bruno Mars Fronts The Thanksgiving Dinner Bill For 24,000 Struggling Families

Nov 16, 2018

Just because someone is successful doesn't mean they didn't have to work for it. That's exactly the case with Bruno Mars.

As a child Mars grew up on music. In fact, it came naturally in his blood. His dad was a percussionist and his mom loved to sing.

The funny thing about his career is that he spent almost ten years writing music, but not for himself. He didn't hit the spotlight until 2010 when he appeared on rapper B.o.B's "Nothin on You". That's when it all started and he began getting noticed.

This may be the reason that Mars is blessed with such a large, giving heart. He has always been the giving type and has definitely helped more than a couple throughout his success.

The first time it's been recorded was in 2014 when he auctioned off one of the backstage passes.

The proceeds from the auction went to the Stephen Gaynor School. This school is an institution that helps with special needs education and ADHD. The pass sold for an astounding five figure number!

That wasn't the only time he helped others. In the same year, he donated over $100k to the Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. This foundation helps Filipino children that loss from Yolanda, the typhoon that severely damaged their nation.

A few years later in 2017, he donated more than 200k to Michigan nonprofit Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The water had been deemed non-drinkable. This group was trying to fix the water crisis that was going on.

It seems like helping others is just something that Mars has and always will do. This year is certainly no exception.

In Honolulu, Mars has three shows that will take place this year. The shows will be closing on November the 11th in a very sincere way.

At the close of the shows, he donated enough for the Salvation Army to provide 24,000 Thanksgiving meals. This will cost the families absolutely nothing, completely free. The number, 24,000, just so happens to go right along with the title of his album "24k Magic".

Mars really has a love for the state he calls home. His first show was put on there and he always has a warm welcome from his fans.

Did you know that Mars is such a caring and giving person? I had no idea! Pass this along to get the word out. This guy deserves some recognition for his acts of kindness!
