Buckingham Palace is officially ready for the holidays. A video released by the palace last week shows a unique time-lapse of all of the Christmas decorations being hung with care. Workers have been laboring hard to get the decorations up in time for the holidays, creating a magical vibe throughout the home of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip.

In this particularly festive clip, the staffers are seen wrapping lights around a tree sitting on a column on a grand staircase at Buckingham Palace. The post reads: "Royal Residences have been transformed for the festive season with the arrival of Christmas Trees including this one at Buckingham Palace."

The royal family also shared a photo of a 20-foot-high Nordmann Fir tree, featured at Windsor Castle in St. George's Hall. In total, the castle features over 20,000 lights, adding a spectacular glow to the grounds.

The palace is the site for a host of seasonal parties and events. According to People, recently, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, invited some lucky children over for her annual holiday party.

The guests were served a delicious lunch of sausages and mash. After eating, the kids got to help decorate the Christmas tree shared by Camilla and her husband, Prince Charles. The highlight of the party was when the children got to meet two of Santa's reindeer in addition to Captain Ross of the Welsh Guards.

As a patron of both Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, Camilla uses her influence to raise money to help care for terminally ill children in Oxfordshire. The group offers medical, practical, and emotional support to the children and their families. Dahl's charity organization provides support and encouragement to more than 70 specialist nurses throughout the UK according to People

Just prior to the charity lunch for children, Camilla was at Buckingham Palace with Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Queen Elizabeth for a holiday kick-off reception. The Queen hosted about 1,000 guests for a formal white-tie affair. This event is always a highlight of the royal social schedule.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to spend the holidays in a quieter way. According to a Buckingham Palace statement as per People, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to bow out of the traditional holiday festivities at Sandringham so that they can spend time with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.

Although the palace officials have not confirmed where the youngest royal couple will be spending the holidays, they have confirmed that it will not be in Meghan's hometown of Los Angeles.
